Dublin, Ireland

I won’t lie — this trip isn’t exactly etched in my memory. What I do remember: the Guinness tour, hellish travel times, and the Temple Bar. Shopping was decent, with a nice VAT refund rate (except for the minor detail that they never actually refunded me). Oh, and lots of churches just like everywhere else in Europe.

As expected, the trip’s highlights were all booze related: drinking and clubbing in the Temple Bar area and the Guinness tour. The actual Temple Bar was way too crowded for my taste, but Fitzsimmon’s was a solid choice, live music and standing awkwardly dancing next to girls and moms in fur coats. I genuinely enjoyed the Guinness tour, despite absolutely hating the taste of the drink.

The second night, I’d managed a fulfilling four hours of sleep before catching a 3 AM flight. Drank a bellyful of Guinness, boarded the red-eye, and still made it to a 10 AM class. The only thing missing was me turning into Superman to save myself.
